Brent H. Wadsworth

Born: March 1929

Wadsworth graduated from the University of Illinois in 1951, with a degree in landscape architecture. While in college, he interned three summers with golf architect, Robert Bruce Harris.

After college Brent served in the military. After leaving the military in 1954, he joined with Edward Lawrence Packard in a golf and landscape partnership. In 1957, Wadsworth left the partnership to form his own golf course construction company.

By the 1990's, Watsworth, who some credit with creating the profession of modern golf course construction, had built the largest and most respected golf contracting company in America. Brent Wadsworth (Golf Course Builder) was awarded the ASGCA's (American Society of Golf Course Architects) Donald Ross Award, ASGCA's highest honor. The Award is presented annually to an individual who has made significant and lasting contributions to the profession of golf course architecture.
