Downriver is one of the oldest golf courses in the Spokane having opened for play in 1916. Downriver Golf Course is a moderately difficult course that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. While not intimidating for the occasional player it also provides a great challenge for the accomplished golfer. The fairways are open, and a few of the tee boxes are elevated. The golf course is heavily treed and lies along the Spokane River and is bordered by Riverside State Park. No water comes into play, though there are several sand bunkers located throughout this hilly but easy to walk course.
