Grayson County College Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Denison, Texas.
Grayson College golf course first opened for play in 1961. The front nine was designed by Joe Finger. The completion of the 18 hole par-72 course was done by Leon Howard.
The course was originally the golf course serving Perrin Air Force Base. The base closed in 1971. The base that then consisted of over 1875 acres including the 18 hole golf course was given to the Grayson County Community College and to the County of Grayson.
Grayson College Golf Course plays to a maximum distance of 6,633 yards for a course rating of 71 and a slope rating of 118.
The back nine is shorter nine and requires more accurate shot placement. The greens are small. Wind is usually a factor here, so selecting the proper club to compensate is an important part of the game.
The course closed in October 2015.
