The course is interesting to play, it can be deceiving at times. You must read the breaks on the greens carefully, or run the risk of three or four putting. Water that comes into play on two holes, and there is one treacherous hill that can cause some very difficult, uneven lies. The greens look flat but will surprise you with subtle breaks.

In 2017, Lucas Armstrong and his family purchased the Church Hill, Tenn., property and reopened it under its original name, Bays Mountain Golf Club. Armstrong learned to play golf on the property and is now learning another element of the game—course maintenance.
