Detailed description

Pine Lakes International Country Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Pine Lakes is nicknamed "The Granddaddy" because it is the oldest course on the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand. The course opened in 1927.

The property was originally known as Ocean Forest Golf and Country Club but rechristened as Pine Lakes in the 1950s.

St. Andrews, Scotland native Robert White, the first PGA of America president was the course architect. Pine Lakes is a throw-back to the best of the traditional layouts. White, who consulted with Donald Ross on the design, created a straight-forward 18 through the pines, oaks. and elms. There are even hints here of Alistair MacKenzie, particularly on the 170-yard 7th which plays through the woods downhill over a lake to a green surrounded by three large bunkers. In April, the blooming azaleas and dogwood behind the green give the hole a look similar to Augusta's 12th.

Pine Lakes was originally built upon natural dunes less than a half mile from the ocean and featured numerous freshwater lakes and rolling fairways. Pine Lakes has surpassed its initial glory after a complete restoration. Craig Scheiner completely renovated this classic golf course while maintaining Robert White's original design. The spirit of the 1920s era remains intact and Pine Lakes is a course true to its roots.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,675 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,758 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 554 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 155 yards from the back tees.
