General James Hackler Golf Course, previously named Quail Creek Golf Course is a Semi-Private , 18 hole golf course located in Conway, South Carolina, part of Myrtle Beach's Golf Grand Strand.
Quail Creek Golf Course first opened for play in 1967. The course was designed by Gene Hamm. The course was rennovated in 2011 by Craig Schreiner
Coastal Carolina University purchased Quail Creek Golf Course in 2010. Craig Schreiner was contracted to update the course's greens. He redid all the greens and moved the putting surfaces on No. 2 and No. 18 closer to water hazards. He removed 60 bunkers, replacing many of them with penal rough.
CCU's Professional Golf Management students operate the course and the neighboring Horry Georgetown Technical College Sports Turf Management students maintain it. This combination helps keep rates low and the course in great condition.
#1, a 547 yard par-5 is the #1 handicap hole with a slight dogleg right. And while the majority of holes are shorter, the dogleg is just a sample of many others you will face at Hackler.
