Standing Stone Golf Club first opened for play in 1973. The course was designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish
Standing Stone Golf Club measures 6,593 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 120 and a 71.4 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The course has a nice lay-out. The front nine is pretty much open with some water. Hole #8 is steeply uphill and #9 is long though downhill. There is some slope to deal with on the first five holes of the back nine. #14 is a par-3 with a 175 yard downhill shot into a large green well protected with bunkers. #15 and 16 have hidden water (look at your scorecards before attempting). Many consider #16 to be among the toughest holes they have evey played.
