The Old Course is a charming Herbert Strong layout, built in 1921, that is elegantly simple in design. It has undergone a number of renovations over the years, not only by the original architect, but also by William Gordon, Perry Maxwell and, later, Tom Marzoff. With each renovation, the emphasis has been on preserving the integrity of the original design, while improving various holes. Not overly difficult from the member tees, the course shows its strength from the championship markers. The gently rolling terrain, framed by magnificent old specimen trees, defines the beauty of the Old Course.
