The Heatherwoode Golf Club first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Denis Griffiths.

The course layout features four sets of teeboxes for the enjoyment of golfers of all skill levels, and plays at 6,730 yards from the back tees for a par 72. There are numerous water hazards provided by - seven lakes and a creek - which means strategic shooting is a must. Difficult holes are mixed in with birdie hole opportunities. Some blind shot holes are present, so it doesn't hurt to check your scorecard before each tee-off.
