Mound Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Miamisburg, Ohio.
The course was designed by a Scottish golf professional Alex “Nipper” Campbell and opened for play in 1938.
The course is situated on a bluff overlooking Miamisburg and the Miami Valley. The course has small greens.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees the course plays to 2,789 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,660 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 457 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 134 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 457 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The hole is a double dogleg left. Golfers who try to shorten the hole by cutting the corner will only complicate their game plan. With two fairway bunkers and out of bounds on the left, and a variety of strategically placed trees, following the fairway is the only way to go. A healthy straight tee shot is required for an optimum second shot. Leave it short, and you'll have to lay up; hit it right side, you leave yourself with a longer approach.
The easiest hole is # 4, a 134 yard par-3. This is a short, straight hole, with a small elevated green. Hit the green and you are putting for birdie. But, if you do happen to miss it, hope that you miss it short you still only need a good chip and one put for par. If you miss this green long, left or right things can be difficult and you'll have to scramble to make par.
