The Little Bear Golf Course opened in 2007. The course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzen.
The Little Bear Golf Course is a 10 hole course with an 11th hole bonus hole. The course has a “front five" and a “back five." The additional challenge hole, "The Island Green hole" is available for charity events, hole-in-one contests, fundraisers, etc. The course design is intended to appeal to people that may only want to play 5 holes (about 40 minutes) ie: someone on his/her lunch hour, after work, etc.
Being non-traditional, the target market for The Little Bear Golf Course differs from the traditional 18-hole golf course. Most of the players are anticipated to be women, seniors, youngsters, new players, and most of all; people that want to play quickly. Convenient to Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and Westerville with close proximity to Polaris makes the course easily accessible.
What started out as a bare soy bean field without any trees is now a beautiful, rolling family recreation area that now has 3 large lakes, a stream, stone waterfall, 22 sand traps and over 1,000 trees.
