Tam O'Shanter Public Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Canton, Ohio. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are The Hills Course & The Dales Course.
The Dales Course opened in 1928. Leonard Macomber designed the Dales Course after working on other golf projects under the legendary architect Donald Ross.
The Dales is a traditionally designed golf course in the Donald Ross style.
The Dales Course, built on somewhat flat terrain and is longer than the Hills Course. However, mounds in the generously wide fairways can cause uneven lies. One of the most difficult holes on the Dales Course is #9, a 202-yard, par 3, requiring a long tee shot to a well-bunkered green.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,538 yards. From the forward tees, the course plays to a par-72 and the course measures 5,401 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 537 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 4, this 411-yard par-4 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 13, a 304 yard par-4.
Tam O'Shanter closed operations in 2018.
