Walnut Creek first opened for play in 1967. The course was designed by Ellis  Maples.

This is a fairly wooded and hilly parkland style course with water hazards on two holes.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,021 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,517 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 547 yards. The shortest hole on the course is the signature hole, #9, a 181 yard, par-3, that requires a tee shot over water to an island green.

Watch out for # 11, a 525-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Walnut Creek Golf Course is # 7, a 350 yard par-4.
