Ridgewood Country Club first opened for play in 1998. The course front nine was designed by Philip A. Wogan and George F. Sargent, Jr. In 2003 the course was expanded to 18 holes with the design being done by John Ponko.
Ridgewood Country Club is one of the premier public access golf courses in the Lake Region. This 18-hole championship golf course, which is located on the north end of Lake Winnipesaukee, features rolling fairways, subtle elevation changes, spectacular mountain views and scenic wildlife. The greens, which are considered to be the best in the state, are mildly undulating and quick. The tree lined front nine puts a premium on accuracy, while the back nine, which features the 609 yard, par 5, 11th hole, opens up for some great scoring opportunities.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6.573 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 4,473 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 609 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 145 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 549 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Ridgewood Country Club is # 10, a 197 yard par-3.
