Eagle Valley Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Carson City, Nevada, just minutes from scenic Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, and Reno. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. The two courses are The East Course and The West Course.
The West Course at Eagle Valley first opened for play in 1987. The course was designed by Jack Snyder.
The West Course is the more difficult of the two Eagle Valley Golf Courses.
The West Course winds along the base of the foothills and the fairways are lined with natural high-desert vegetation, making for some magnificent views. This picturesque links-style golf course puts a premium on accuracy & shot-making. The course is a true risk/reward experience. Miss your target and the penalty is severe, but strike it true and the birdies fly. Strategically placed water hazards and dramatic elevation changes often require forced carries; the West is not for the faint of heart or the high-handicapper.
The West Course has 4 sets of tee boxes for the men and 2 for the women. For the men, the course plays to 6,851 yards, the blue 6,421, the white 5,978 and seniors play to 5,323 yards. The ladies' white tees are set at 5,978 yards and the red are 5,323 yards.
Par for the course is 72. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 625 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 169 yards from the back tees.
