Green Meadow Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Helena, Montana. Members and their guests are allowed to play the course; however, anyone living more than 60 miles away can visit without an accompanying member. Out-of-town walk-ons are not allowed on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. On weekends guests must call for a tee time.
Green Meadow Country Club first opened for play in 1946. The course was designed by George MacMillan. MacMillian redesigned his original nine in 1960. William Teufel designed nine new holes in 1974 and Robert Muir Graves redesigned all 18 holes the following year, 1975.
The course is known for its great par-3s, mature trees, and mountain vistas. A wide variety of wildlife life on and around the course. It's Montana. Water hazards come into play on at least five holes.
The signature hole is #5, a 128-yard, par-3 that requires a tee shot, usually into the wind, to an island green.
Par for the course is 71 for men and 73 for women. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,340 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,495 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, the par-3 that plays to 128 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, this 545-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Green Meadow Golf Course is # 14, a 283 yard par-4.
