From the back tees, Quail Creek is one of the most difficult public course in the St. Louis area with a slope rating of 141 and is all an accomplished player wants. From the middle tees, it is demanding, and the forward tees are playable by all. Many fairways are narrow and many shots carry a risk-reward ratio. The course has moderately hilly terrain. The greens are moderately undulating. The signature hole is #15, a 420-yard, par 4, features a dogleg left fairway and a double-tiered green.
