Lakewood Golf Club opened in 1961. Hale Irwin redesigned three of the nine holes in 1991.

Lakewood Golf Club is a plush and well-maintained course with enough variety to challenge the most advance golfer. The fairways are bordered by a thick cut of rough and all the holes are tree lined. There is only one large pond that comes into play on the course and the greens are medium-sized.

Lakewood Golf Club measures 2,530 yards from the Blue tees and 2,170 yards from the Red tees. Par for this 9-hole course is 34.

Lakewood Golf Club closed in 2006. The course has been replaced by a hospital complex.
