Shell Landing Golf Club first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Davis Love, III.

Golf Digest names Shell Landing among America's Best New Courses of 2002. The January 2003 issue ranked the championship design #5 in America in the Best New Upscale Public category, and the only one in the top 5 located in the South. In 2007 Shell Landing was recognized by Golf Digest when it was presented the "Architecture Award' in recognition of our outstanding design and was named amoung the "Best Golf Courses in the State."

The greens at Shell Landing Golf Club are large and undulating, the holes are imaginative and challenging, and the scenery is nice. Very few holes have houses along them and many play along or over salt marshes. The course plays to 7,024 yards from the back tees and is a par 72 layout. The course rating is 73.2 with a slope rating of 128.
