Lafayette Country Club

Lafayette Country Club is a Private 9 hole golf course located in Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota.

The Lafayette Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1899. The course was redesigned by Tom Bendelow in 1915.

This is a well-manicured course. Two water hazards come into play. The greens are fast, and the fairways are narrow. Ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men, yet they do receive a couple of extra strokes on par. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when double looping for eighteen hole round.

The Club's location is on a peninsula in Lake Minnetonka. The Club has hosted General Ulysses S. Grant, Vice President Adlai Stevenson, President Chester Arthur, President William Howard Taft, and many governors of the State of Minnesota. Adlai Stevenson lived in one of the cottages on the grounds. Chester Arthur used the Lafayette Club for a summer White House.

Par for the course is 31. From the back tees the course plays to 2148 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2148 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-4 that plays to 360 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 160 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 7, a 210 yard par-3 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Lafayette Country Club is # 4, a 237 yard par-4.
