Granite Links Golf Club

Granite Links Golf Club is a Public, 27 hole golf course located in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Granite Links Golf Club first opened for play in 2003. The first nine (Milton Nine) of Granite Links Golf Club opened for play in 2003, and the second nine (Granite Nine) followed in the summer 2004. The third nine (Quincy Nine) opened in 2006. The course was designed by John Sanford. The nines can be combined to form three different 18-hole combinations.

The question, what happened to the 10s of thousands of truck loads of dirt that was excavated during the "Big Dig," Boston's 15-year road infrastructure makeover?

The answer, it's still in the area, just drive out to Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy to see where it is now. The massive amount of fill from the Big Dig was used to terrace the side slopes of the landfill domes. As the course name indicates, this is a links style course, situated atop what were once actively mined quarries. Remnants of the quarries can be seen on the course in the form of granite outcroppings and some rather impressive water hazards, some of which run 40 to 400 feet deep

Granite Links is characterized by its challenging roughs, sparsely vegetated fairways, and staggering winds but its most eye-catching feature is the Boston city-scape that serves as the backdrop. It is this marriage of man and nature that makes it a four-star "Best Places to Play" (Golf Digest) and a unique interplay of the best in urban development.
