Petersham Country Club first opened for play in 1924. The course was designed by Donald Ross.
Over the years some changes have been made to the course, a couple of the greens have been moved and reshaped, however, the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th putting greens have never been altered.
Par for the course is 35. From the back tees the course plays to 2923 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2469 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 460 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 125 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 374 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 125 yard par-3.
The course closed due to lack of membership and poor revenues.The land has been purchased by Harvard University.
