George Wright Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Hyde Park, Massachusetts.
George Wright golf course first opened for play in 1938. The par-70 course was designed by Donald Ross with construction done by the federal Civil Works Administration (CWA) and Works Progress Administration (WPA).
The course offers great views and rugged terrain, most notably the fairways of the 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 17th holes. Over half the holes on the course include significant hills that often cause the golfer to hit blind shots. Somewhat narrow fairways guarded by large numbers of mature trees also make this relatively short course extremely challenging.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,440 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,131 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 515 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 165 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 453-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at George Wright Golf Course is # 17, a 170 yard par-3.
