Blandford Country Club, previously a private course named Bradford Golf Club, is a Semi-private (open to the public) 9 hole golf course located in Blandford, in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts,
The course opened for play in 1909. The course was designed by the original founding members.
Beginning with the 2019 season, the name was changed Blandford Country Club and came under new management. A group of longtime members headed by Mark Amanti, owner of Advance Manufacturing in Westfield, Mass. bought the club and assumed its debts. These members, who had spent years playing here, were not ready to see a beautiful golf course give way to commercial or residential development. They purchased the property to carrying on its founding principles and historical tradition.
Par for the course is 35. From the back tees, the course plays to 2,722 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,437 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 456 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 139 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 456 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 5, a 139 yard par-3.
Although the course is only medium in length, some holes challenge driving skills, short game and putting. The greens are small. You need to be accurate. The greens on holes 6 and 7 are a challenge as they have a small target area, least the slope carries the ball off the green. #8 and 9 are long driving holes. On #8 from the blue tees, your drive is through a chute before the fairway opens up. Your drive on the 456 yard 9th hole is straight uphill. The green on 9 will challenge any golfer.
