Bay Club, is a Semi-Private, 36 hole golf course located in Berlin, Maryland. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are: The East Course and The West Course.
The Bay Club has two 7,000 yard, par 72, 18-hole championship courses. The tees and greens are sited into the natural woodlands of the area. Adding to the character of your golfing experience are 426 acres of lakes, natural and man made wetland areas, strategically placed sand traps, and the "Devil's Island" and "Paradise Island" greens that are sure to get your attention.
The East Course features the area's only tour quality Zoysia grass fairways. And, the West Course features the area's original island green, Devil's Island.
The West Course first opened for play in 1989. It was designed by Russell Roberts.
The West Course was the first of The Bay Club's two courses and is home to "Devil's Island", the infamous par 3 and island green at hole #14. The West Course also features the "Green Monster", a 100 yard wide double green serving hole #9 & hole #18.
Devil's Island has become both a signature hole and a Maryland Eastern Shore landmark. The green plays at 189 yards from the back tee with gentle hills around it that slope back into the water. The hole has a prevailing left to right crosswind - so plan carefully! Pro's advice is simply to "pick the right club, check the wind, calm the nerves, and let it rip!" Pro's always say the obvious.
