Detailed description
Walnut Creek Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Marion, Indiana. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are The Club Run Course and The Walnut Creek Course.

The older of the two courses is the Walnut Creek Course that opened in 1970. The course was designed by Randy Ballinger.

The Club Run Golf Course was first opened as a 9 hole course in 1995 incorporating holes 1-4 and also 14-18 of the back nine. The driving range was added in 1997 and the final 9 holes were completed in 1998. This course too was designed by Randy Ballinger.

_______________

The Club Run Course is much shorter than the Walnut Creek Course, but it is hilly, tightly wooded and more difficult. Club Run typically is the harder of the two courses; even though most people play the blue tees at only 5,791 yards. Club Run is much more of a shot maker’s course. It features more doglegs and lay-ups

The Walnut Creek Golf Course, Club Run Course measures 6,226 yards from the back tees. The course is a par-72 layout. The course rating is 69.1 with a slope rating of 122.

_______________

The Walnut Creek Course is the longer, but easier, of the two courses. The Walnut Creek Course also features enough variety of terrain to challenge the most experienced golfer. Water hazards come into play on several holes, making the Walnut Creek Course a very scenic course. The signature hole is #16, a 372-yard, par 4, featuring an hourglass-shaped green.

The Walnut Creek Golf Course, Walnut Creek Course measures 6,880 yards from the back tees. The course is a par-72 layout. The course rating is 72.1 with a slope rating of 121. With the elevation changes it does play quite difficult when you play it all of the way back. The longest hole is # 11 with a 620 yard par 5, but it plays mostly down hill. The Walnut Creek Course is more forgiving than Club Run Course so that if you spray the ball a little you will not lose as many strokes or balls. Most players will shoot about 3 strokes higher on the Club Run Course than on the Walnut Creek Course.
