Windmills Golf Course is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Rio, Illinois.
Windmills Golf Course first opened for play in 1974.
Windmills is a scenic, rural, nine hole, course is showcased by a creek winding its way through the course's design. Many of the hills will cause uneven lies, and numerous trees can alter your shots. Since the fairways are narrow and the greens are small, shot accuracy with both irons and woods is at a premium.
The course plays to a 9-hole par-32 and maximum distance of 2,100 yards. The longest hole is #6, a 445 yard par-5. The shortest hole is #5, a 100 yard par-3. Ladies tee off from the same tees as the men. There are additional tee locations that can be used when playing a double loop eighteen hole round.
The course closed in 2010.
