Fox Valley Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in North Aurora, Illinois. The course opened in 1929 and was designed by Charles Maddox.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,937 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,826 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 533 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 144 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 533 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 12, a 496 yard par-5.
The course was built on rolling terrain, so expect some uneven lies in the fairways. Even though the fairways are lined with oak trees, they still afford generous landing areas. However, there are numerous sand bunkers throughout the entire course, and water hazards that come into play at least three times. The greens are small and difficult to hit in regulation.
Fox Valley Golf Course closed November 1, 2015.
D.R. Horton/Cambridge wants to build single-family townhouses, duplexes and detached houses on the 102-acre site. It is paying the city of Aurora $5.3 million for the land on which the closed golf course sits.
