Great River Road Golf Club is a Public 18 holes golf course located in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Great River Road Golf Club first opened for play in 1970. The course was designed by Steve Sanders.
The hills rise and fall throughout the layout—the course offers 160 feet of total elevation change—presenting shots to both raised and descending targets. The signature hole—a 370-yard par-four—doglegs left into an island green perched atop the Mississippi's flowing waters that will test even the most practiced swings.
Par for the course is 65. From the back tees, the course plays to 4904 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 3972 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 548 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 128 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 16, a 375 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 4, a 260 yard par-4.
The course was closed in 2014.
Although the course was financially viable, the owner sold the course to spend more time with family. The property was sold and will be used for farming.
