Fox Lake Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Fox Lake, Illinois.
Fox Lake first opened for play in 1926. The course was designed by Richard P. Nugent
Fox Lake is a challenging and scenic par 72 golf course. Sloping bluegrass fairways, contoured greens and 56 sand-traps along with beautiful trees and a number of water hazards make this a challenging course. On the front nine you should avoid the right side or you will be flirting with disaster. The back nine opens up a bit, but good tee shots are still a necessity. Greens primarily slope back to front with pretty severe breaks.
From the Blue tees, Fox Lake plays to 6,347 yards with a course rating of 71.7 and a slope rating of 128. From the white tees it plays at 6,156 yards with a course rating of 70.8 and a slope rating of 126.
The signature hole at Fox Lake is the 484 yard, Par 4, Hole # 17. Besides the length, the fairway slopes to the left and fairway bunkers pose another hazard. Make a par on this one and you will have definitely earned it.
