Bent Tree Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Charleston, Illinois.
Designed by Pat Kaiser, the Bent Tree golf course opened in 1986. Like many courses in the area it began in the mid-80's with 9 holes being constructed and then an additional 9 added in the early 90's. The two nines have totally different appearances and playing characteristics. The front nine is the longer of the two. The front 9 is easy with wide fairways and water on most holes. #7 has a long 90 degree dog leg followed by #8 par 3 over a ball hungry pond. The back 9 is much more fun, but significantly more difficult. Water comes into play on each hole, and there are some narrow fairways. #18 is a beautiful island green par 3. The waters between the 18th tee and the island green 115 yards away is a graveyard for a great many golf balls.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6,240 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,645 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 17, a par-5 that plays to 510 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 18, a par-3 that plays to 150 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 405 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 280 yard par-4.
