First opened in 1969, the course was named Emerald Hills Country Club and was designed by Bruce Devlin & Robert Von Hagge. In 1989, the club was redesigned by Charles Ankrom and renamed The Club at Emerald Hills.
Many tournaments & qualifyings have been hosted at the course over the years. Doral Open Qualifier (1986-2006), Honda Open Qualifier (1992-2002). Since 2003, the club has served as host site for the Men's US Amateur, US Mid Amateur. Water comes in play on 12 holes.
