Nestled within the rolling hills of Brooksville, Florida, Southern Hills Plantation provides a unique terrain. Elevations of 60 to nearly 250 feet makes this a unique Florida golf course. Designed to maximize natural elevations and views, the private, 18-hole course is rated by Golf Week as one of the top 100 residential courses in the United States.
The 18 named holes are carved out of native oaks and magnolias of a former nursery and play around scenic conservation areas, ravines and lakes with other natural buffers keeping the feeling of solitude for both golfers and residents. The par-5 seventh hole (named "A Fair Test") rises 40 feet from tee to landing area, then offers a stunning view down 40 feet in elevation to the green. Other aptly-named holes like "Devil's Bathtub" and "Grace Under Pressure" give Southern Hills instant character.
The Southern Hills Plantation Golf Course has generous course corridors, expansive landing areas and natural buffers that frame each hole. Pete Dye also designed the superb practice facilities including a driving range, chipping and putting greens, and a six hole par three course.
Southern Hills is a par-72 challenge that plays to a maximum distance of 7,557 yards.
