Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club, is a Resort, 36 hole golf course facility located in Aventura, Florida. The facility has two 18 hole golf courses: The Miller Golf Course and The Soffer Golf Course. Situated just minutes from North Miami Beach and South Beach, Turnberry Isle Resort & Club covers 300 tropical acres that offer a variety of activities. The unique Mediterranean-inspired architecture is a complement to the natural beauty of south Florida. The lush landscape provides the ideal setting for the two 18-hole championship golf courses at the resort.
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., both of the Turnberry Isle Miami's 18-hole championship golf courses – the Soffer and Miller Courses - opened for play in 1971. In 2007, World Golf Hall of Famer Raymond Floyd completely redesigned both on-property championship courses from tee to green. $45 million was devoted specifically to this project.
Alongside the Miller, the Soffer is the more demanding of the two Turnberry Isle golf courses and plays to a par-71 and 7,047 yards from the championship tees. Both courses are Audubon bird sanctuaries and are home to a wealth of exotic Florida bird life, including flamingos who nest on "Flamingo Island" within resort grounds. A private golf club, Turnberry Isle's two golf courses are available to guests of the on-site resort.
Compared to the resort's demanding Soffer Course, the Miller is a shorter, more player-friendly test with three sets of tees. The Soffer Course plays to a par-70 and 6,417 yards from the back tees. Both courses are private and offer tee times to guests of the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort.
