Farmington Woods Golf Course, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Avon, Connecticut.
Farmington Woods Golf Course first opened for play in 1970. The course was designed by the English architect, Desmond Muirhead.
Farmington Woods Golf Course was built on 122 acres. The course was one of the first designs to incorporate a golf course within a residential community. One of the main features of the course is the large undulating greens, many with false fronts, approached from fairways that are surrounded by the homes and much of the original foliage of the land. The course is perhaps one of the tightest in the state but offers a challenge to all levels of players. There are 23 well placed sand traps on the course and water is in play on 8 holes. The greens are “bent grass”. The “par” for the course is 72.
