Detailed description

Broadmoor Golf Club is a Resort, 54 hole golf course facility located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The facility has three 18-hole golf courses. They are: The Broadmoor East Course, The Broadmoor West Course, and The Broadmoor Mountain Course.

Broadmoor is the largest and certainly one of the finest golf experiences in Colorado. If you love great golf, ambiance, challenge, and are a student of golf architecture, the Broadmoor may be the answer to your wildest dreams.

The first of the three courses, The Broadmoor East Course opened for play in 1918. The course was designed by Donald Ross. The second course to open was The Broadmoor West Course. The West course opened its first 9 in 1950. The second 9 was completed 15 years later in 1965. Both 9s were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, who also did some redesigning of the East Course. The team of Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed The Broadmoor Mountain Course. The Mountain Course opened for play in 1976. It was redesigned in 2006 by Jack Nicklaus.

The Broadmoor West Course

At 6,800 feet in elevation, this 18-hole course has more doglegs and steeply-angled greens, and is higher in elevation than the East Course. The rolling fairways and multilevel greens overlook both the city and the mountains.

The West Course plays tighter off the tee, with more heavily tree-lined holes than the East Course. Daunting sand bunkers seem to be everywhere, and water hazards enhance three of the par threes. The doglegs and steeply-angled greens make for a very challenging round of golf.

The Broadmore West Course is a challenging Par-71 layout. The 4 sets of tee boxes are Blue 7,016 yards, White 6,173 yards, Gold 5,253 yards and Red 5,162 yards.
