Ponderosa Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Truckee, California.

Ponderosa Golf Course first opened for play in 1961. The course was designed by Bob E. Baldock.

Ponderosa Golf Course is a formidable NCGA rated course that presents a challenge for both the serious handicapper and the casual golfer. Tall intimidating Ponderosa Pines line the well-maintained greens and fairways and sand traps are strategically placed throughout the course making it challenging and fun to play. Ponderosa offers easy fairways and decent sized greens.This is one of the most affordable golf courses in the Truckee area. Twilight starts around 2 or 2:30 and costs $20.

If you do a double loop and play 18, par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6044 yards (9 Holes, 3018 Yards, Par 35). From the forward tees the course measures 5112 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 507 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 145 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 9, the 507 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Ponderosa Golf Course is # 18, a 507 yard par-5.

Ponderosa Golf Course was family owned and operated until 2007. Ponderosa was purchased in 2007 by the Truckee Airport and is now maintained by the Truckee Parks and Rec.
